Raised with the awareness of her Italian heritage and a long line of artists and musicians in her family, Patricia Ficalora designs fine jewelry combining excellence in craftsmanship and detail with a lifetime of studying form. As all things in life influence my work, I see the creative process as a treasure hunt for purity and honest necessity, which ultimately becomes my inspiration. I am a sculptor at heart. a native New Yorker, Ficalora founded her own design company in 1994. Commencing her career in New York in 1983 as a production assistant with Henson Assoc. for Sesame Street. In 1984 she joined the corporate design department at Tiffany & Co., and In 1986 went on to became part of Angela Cummings Inc., New York; one of Americas most prestigious fine jewelry designers as Angela's design assistant and principal model maker until the summer of 94' Ficalora now divides her time designing metal compacts and perfume bottles for Estee Lauder Inc. and Elizabeth Arden among others; and design and production of her own jewelry collections. Ficalora is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design with a B.F.A. in sculpture. While at R.I.S.D., she was one of the select group of talented individuals chosen for the prestigious European Honors program, characterized by a year of study in Rome, Italy. Ficalora completed her degree project carving marble in northern Italy among long time artisans of Pietrasanta, a town famous for the sculpture it produces. She subsequently remained in Europe to pursue her Masters degree in Sculpture from Rosary College in Florence. Ficalora is also a member of The Coucil of Fashion Designers of America. Ficalora jewelry designs are for fashion conscious individuals who desire exceptional quality in design and craftsmanship.
